Explain Grounding and Shielding

 Grounding and Shielding

•Grounding:-

>Grounding is a technique that provide a low resistance path
between electrical or electronic equipment's and earth or common
reference low impedance plane to bypass
 EMI signal.
>Electrical grounding is essential to prevent human from electric
shock as well as protection of equipment from damaging the
 whole circuitry.
>There are following three grounding types:
  a) single point grounding
  b) multi-point grounding
  c) hybrid grounding

a) Single point grounding-   in this each subsystem is grounded to
separate plane structural ground, single ground , shield ground, etc.

b) Multi-point grounding-     in this every equipment is heavily bounded
to a solid conducting plane which is than grounded for safety purpose.

c) Hybrid grounding-         in this grounding the ground appears as a single point.
Ground at low frequency and a multi-point ground at high frequency.

•Shielding

>it is a technique that reduce or prevent coupling of undesired
radiated electromagnetic energy into equipment to enable it to
operate compatibility in the electromagnetic environment.
